The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered at New Salem High School on Wednesday, October 18th. This is the first test students need to take for competing in the National Merit Scholarship competition. The very select few who score above the 99.5 national percentile rank will be notified in September of 2007 for further competition. Juniors who havenít signed up need to sign up with me. Good Luck!

TestGEAR Training
On Wednesday, September 6, 2006 a team of high school teachers and I attended a TestGEAR Training Session in Bismarck. TestGEAR is an ACT test preparation program located at TestGEAR is designed to improve student ACT scores by providing pretests, practorials, minicourses, vocabulary lab, and curriculums custom made for each student.
Thanks to Jody Olheiser, Dan Olienyk, and Dr. Lanny Gabbert for attending the training and trying to incorporate some of what we learned into your respective curriculums. The benefit for New Salem High School students is to do better on the ACT and hopefully on the North Dakota State Assessment as well.

If you have any questions on career, counseling, or assessment topics, please contact me at New Salem High School at 843-7610, at Hebron High School at 878-4442, or at my residence at 222-3222.

Have an excellent academic day!
