Seniors Receive Career Planning Portfolios
Last week the New Salem seniors received their Career Planning Portfolios. Each year when we give the seniors their career planning portfolios we have a little celebration in Mrs. Tammy Gilstadís Senior English Class. The studentís Career Planning Portfolios contain an assortment of academic, activities, and career planning documents. I hope the seniors keep this portfolio and add to it as seems appropriate.

I also hope that they will nourish their positive attitudes. Sometimes our attitudes and traditions are 2 of the things that can help us weather the storms that life has for us.

I certainly hope these seniors listen to their dreams, continue to set goals, develop and follow their plans as they cross another milestone in their lives.

Here are some pictures of the seniors upon receiving their Career Planning Portfolios.

Mrs. Gilstad and some of the 2007 seniors

To start out my last visit, I told the seniors I had some good news and some bad news. The good news is that this is the last time you will have to listen to me speaking to you as seniors. The bad news is I wonít get to visit your classroom as seniors. Besides being a great group of students academically, athletically, great students, these seniors are also pretty good at hamming it up.

Thank you Mrs. Gilstad for allowing me in your classroom so many times. Especially thanks for my last classroom visit with the New Salem Senior Graduating Class of 2007. Thank you seniors of 2007.

Iíve never had a group of students that applauded after my presentations like these seniors did. Iím not sure if they liked what I had to say, if they were being polite, or if they were just plain very glad that I was done speaking and happy I was leaving the classroom! In any event, I felt very good inside because of it. I will miss you, each and every one. I wish you the best of luck to you in your future. What a great group of students!
