Shed Building 101
Planning, measuring, sawing, nailing, hammering, pouring and finishing cement were some of the things Iíve seen students doing in Mr. Shawn Feiringís Ag. Ed. IV Class this past year. These students built a large storage shed last fall. It was too late in the year to pour cement so they waited until this spring.
Here are some pictures of the shed building and cement finishing process. The pictures can do the talking for me.
(See The New Salem Journal for photos)
These are experiences that many of you and I never had while in high school. Iím sure that as the years go by, some of these students are going to be involved in building several sheds for themselves or friends. Who knows, some of them may even have a part-time or full-time job in the construction trades.
Thanks to Mr. Feiring for his efforts in providing this educational experience. Also thanks to Kevin Doll and Wade Schulz for their expertise and efforts in the cement finishing process.
What a great experience for these students!
