Thanks to everyone from the Hebron and surrounding area who contributed for these scholarships. This includes the individuals and the businesses that made these scholarships possible. I find it amazing that the Hebron Community can generate over $ 14,000. in local scholarships. I hope you can continue with these efforts.

Thanks also to Mr. George Ding for coordinating these local scholarships with the donors and the students. These scholarships will contribute to the post-secondary education plans of these students. Congratulations scholarships recipients!

Additional Class of 2005 Scholarship Recipients!
One of the many things I like about my job is assisting students in obtaining funding to pursue post-secondary education. This includes federal loans, grants, and college work-study as well as scholarships. Here is a list of college scholarship recipients from the class of 2005. I realize that some students may receive additional scholarships. However, these are the ones of which I am aware as of graduation.

Trish Glass is the recipient of a Community Credit Union Scholarship.

Angela Kitzan is the recipient of the UND Outstanding Leader Scholarship and the North Dakota University System Financial Aid Night Scholarship.

Brad Sayler is the recipient of a Dickinson State University Golf Scholarship.

Stephen Sease is the recipient of a Dickinson State University Taco Johns Scholarship.

Congratulations for your hard work and extra effort in high school. Often hard work does pay off in the long run. Receiving these scholarships is like getting paid for doing well in high school. I hope current high school students who read this will in turn be motivated to continue to do their best in school and in life.

Congratulations Seniors!
Although there is an element of sadness in seeing you leave Hebron High School, there is also happiness in seeing you continue in your journey through life. Keep your positive attitude. Sometimes this may be difficult to do. However, at times a positive attitude is one of the main things we can cling to in weathering some storms life has to offer.

Career planning is not a once in a lifetime activity. Instead, career planning is a process that goes on throughout life. The better we plan and follow the plan, the better potential life has for us. Yes, it is okay to change our plans. However, I hope that you change your plans only after a thoughtful decision-making process has occurred.

Who cares about you more than probably any other person in your life? My guess is mom and dad. Please involve them in major life plan decisions you make. They have a lot of experience and they want what is best for you.

I hope you listen to your dreams, plan your future and set goals for yourself. Time management is an important issue for us all. If we manage our time well, then time will treat us well in return.

I hope you dream, plan, set goals, and celebrate the achievement of goals! Finally I hope that each of you takes advantage of your unique abilities (what you are good at) and your interests in your career planning process. Education is the key that unlocks the doors to our future.

Best of luck to you in your future!
